The Beginning
Born From the Sea
While sailing around the world, we discovered something that changed our course โ not on the charts, but in the people we met along the way.
On Tanna Island, Vanuatu, we found a village of 56 people. Every single day, they walked down an impossibly steep hill โ more than a mile โ just to collect water. The terrain was so severe they could only carry small amounts back up. It was their entire daily struggle.
We helped where we could. The gratitude we received was overwhelming โ and it set us on a new heading.
After 10 years of living aboard, we understood water systems intimately. We knew what worked, what broke, and what mattered most: simplicity, durability, and zero complexity. If a machine needs an engineer to maintain it, it's useless in a remote village.
That conviction became Libra Aqua โ a company and a mission. With the support of our partner charity, we set out to build water systems that anyone, anywhere, can rely on.
